The Automated People Mover (APM) is a 2.25-mile elevated guideway train system and the centerpiece of Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP). The LAMP is designed to revolutionize the traveler experience by providing easy access to the airport and LA Metro’s regional transportation system improving reliability and mobility, while reducing congestion and emissions. The APM will deliver passengers between LAX and new offsite parking, car rental, and transit facilities.
ADF’s contract includes design-assist, shop drawings, fabrication as well as installing about 8,890 tons of structural steel for the five stations (ITF-West, East CTA, ITF-East, West CTA and Center CTA) and their pedestrian walkways.
