Constructed in 1962, the Champlain Bridge connected Montreal to the South Shore across the St. Lawrence River. Used by 50 million vehicles a year, it was one of Canada’s busiest bridges. The project consisted in reinforcing the bridge to compensate for current and future deterioration of the shore beams.
ADF was subcontracted to fabricate and apply coating to the oversized modular trusses. These modular components were 50 meters long and weighed 56 tons.
