The Arthur Ashe Stadium is a tennis stadium located in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, in the United States. It’s part of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and host of the US Open. With capacity for 23,771 spectators, it is the largest stadium in the world uniquely dedicated to tennis. Built in 1997, the stadium did not have a roof. In 2013 was launched the project to add a light, retractable roof, and in 2016 it was completed.
For this project, ADF was subcontracted to fabricate and apply the cladding to the corner columns, gutter trusses, and three-dimensional trellises. It was a sizable challenge with heavy construction and complex engineering work.
