All Aboard Florida is a project completed in 2015 that was developed and financed by a private company. The objective was to link southern and central Florida with a high-speed train, creating new routes to Orlando.
Miami Central Station was one of three stations scheduled to open in 2016. Being in a densely populated location, the station and tracks were built 50 feet aboveground to avoid disrupting traffic and the existing commercial buildings.

The suspended tracks are comprised of large beams with horizontal reinforcement. The V-shaped exterior envelope is made up of two-planed inclined box girders.
