The design of this new convention center evokes that of a great ship. Constructing this building, with its original design, required the fabrication of heavy steel built-up components and nodes with multiple connections to meet the architectural requirements. ADF used 16,000-some tons of steel to complete the metal structure, the three 600-ton interior pedestrian bridges, and the main steel mast. In the mobile portion of the structure, a custom system of integrated cables supports the roof and consolidates the building’s oblique lines.
